Pig and Fish Farming

This project aims to provide sustainable income in the Northwest region of Cambodia by providing pig and fish farming opportunities to the vulnerable and the poor, helping to keep the children of families in the region from being swallowed into the sex trade industry for economic reasons. Extreme Prophetic partners with Cambodian Hope Organization (CHO) in implementing this micro-enterprise project. Initially, fishponds and pigpens need to be built and fish food and pig food need to be manufactured. Then the goal is to train 80-100 families how to generate income through the micro-enterprise business of raising and selling fish and pigs.

Pig and Fish Farms:
The initial pigs and/or fish will be loaned to the family, with the pig immunizations already paid for and the family will be given training to ensure the pigs and/or fish remain healthy. Then once breeding has taken place, the family repays the loan with some of the offspring, and generates income by selling the remaining piglets/fish at market. The repayment of the initial investment then enables other target families to be entered into the program.

Loans To Single Women:
CHO is also actively involved in helping women and their families stay out of the sex trade by providing micro-enterprise loans between $100-$200 to each woman. The women who receive this money use it to purchase the necessary equipment to start various enterprises – a vendor cart to sell food, a sewing machine, or other small necessities to provide an ongoing income for their families. They then repay the loan from their earnings, enabling the money to be used again, and again.

Schooling:
Cambodian Hope Organization believes in ministering to the entire person, so they will also work with the target
families to ensure the children attend public school, as well as following up with their school attendance and any other needs they may have.

Spiritual Care:
Members of CHO will also pray and minister to each target family, sharing the knowledge and love of Christ, praying for the success of their business and ministering to their spiritual needs as well. Many come to know Christ personally through this supply of income and training.
