XP Missions is currently working with Cambodian Hope Organization in building a children’s home in Poipet, Cambodia.
The border town of Poipet is located between Thailand and Cambodia. The destruction of this nation, under the leadership of Pol Pot, has left Cambodia one of the poorest countries in the world. Into this vacuum of poverty sexual tourism has flourished. Many children are kidnapped and trafficked across the border for the global sex market.
Cambodian Hope aims to prevent the trafficking of children as well as domestic violence and the spread of HIV. CHO is presently establishing micro-enterprises and small business establishments in order to present an alternative to the sex trade.
XP Missions has recently financed a Children’s Home in Poipet. This home will provide a safe environment for the following social groups that are most susceptible to sexual trafficking and exploitation:
- Children who are HIV/AIDS positive
- Children from landless families
- Children from families where one or more parents has disability
- Children amongst the poorest of the poor
